Welcome

I had a client who recently asked..."WTF?" I suggested she might start a blog by that name and I hope she does. She's quite brilliant. That being said, it occurred to me that I might have some fun---with a forum where "blah, blah, blah, blah" can just happen. "Blah" is nothing, anything, everything, and whatever. Blah Blah Blog is where the random, often fleeting, thoughts of life can find a place to live and maybe even grow....

School Vacation?

I was talking to my friend today. Our kids don't have school right now and it's pretty great. It's nice to have time together where it's all about play and relaxation. It's even nice to sit and snuggle by the fireplace and read and watch the rain fall.

We, my friend and I, started to think about spring break, and how great that might be. We thought that maybe our families will go to Mexico together for the holiday. So I went to check my son's calendar. It was a rude re-awakening! As it is, every other Thursday he gets out of school an hour early..."cutbacks". Blah, blah, blah! This wreaks havoc for those of us who work for a living. As it is... Monday through Friday one week looks one way, and Monday through Friday the next week looks another way. Okay... I have dealt with this on that level... but of course... and who really cares... my son, and kids throughout the country, are getting rooked out of two to three hours of education a month! Blah, blah, blah... I digress!

So, back to the conversation with my friend. I go to look at my son's spring break. The calendar tells me that he has a Thursday early dismissal, followed by a full Friday, followed by a week off! REALLY?!... UMMMM.... Maybe we could have a few more FULL days of school and start vacation on Friday. Maybe we could have our kids in school on a more consistent schedule, and lump together the furlough time with vacation time that the kids already have!!! AAAAAhhhh! My friend nominated me to run our schools, and I respectfully declined.... Blah, blah, blah! More later, I'm sure...
